February is Heart Month…and for Gary Hughes and wife Elizabeth Schill Hughes, a reminder that Inova saved Gary’s life
“Grateful for the care that saved his life, Gary and Elizabeth have made Inova one of their philanthropic priorities. “It’s an organization that saved my life,” Gary says simply. “What better place is there to support?”
“We had two family members destined to die, and they didn’t because of Inova,” says Izzy Schone.
“He wasn’t supposed to walk again, and now he’s a cross-country runner,” Heather says. “He’s the fastest runner in his school as of right now.”
Inova’s Music Therapy Program Improves Patient Outcomes
The program, funded fully by philanthropy, shows that one song, guided by a music therapist, can ease anxiety. One rhythm can help a patient reconnect with themselves.
Young Patients Receive Gift of Communication
Inova’s Patient Support Fund brings critical resources to patients with the greatest needs. Often its beneficiaries are young children.
