Invest in Reimagining Behavioral Health
Together, we can do more for our kids, adolescents, and any adult struggling with devastating mental health and addiction issues … and for the many members of our community who suffer in silence with the underexplored consequences of clinical depression and overall mental health issues. Supporting Inova’s Behavioral Health and Wellness programs helps us expand access to patients that desperately need it, many of whom cannot afford this treatment without financial assistance. Expanding Adolescent Mental Health and Addiction Programs
Given the adolescent mental health crisis, there has never been a more important time to invest in the behavioral health of our community’s kids and teens. Our nationally recognized Inova Kellar Center offers comprehensive mental health and substance use disorder treatment programs for children and adolescents. The Kellar School offers therapeutic education for grades 3-12 in need of special education services. And, our inpatient adolescent mental health team provides exceptional care in a therapeutic setting.
Expanding a Whole Person Care Model
Our dedicated team of psychiatrists, psychologists, nurses, therapists, social workers and other behavioral health professionals focus on supporting the total well-being – mind and body – of each person we serve. We are building embedded behavioral health teams throughout Inova, providing critical mental health support for patients navigating various health conditions, including pregnancy, trauma, cardiovascular issues, and beyond.
Depression Screening and Therapeutic Support
Last year, thanks in part to generous community support, Inova launched Universal Depression Screening, making mental health screening a standard part of appointment intake at primary care sites. We are now expanding to all inpatient and outpatient sites. Funding can help us secure the additional resources (counseling, community referrals, medication management, family support) to support patients identifying various levels of depression.
Expanding Adult Addiction Programs
Inova’s Comprehensive Addiction Treatment Services (CATS) program, the region’s leader in addiction treatment, uses a holistic approach to support patients recovering from substance use disorders. Generous community support helps ensure we can meet individuals where they are and help them to create positive change in their lives, using a holistic approach.
