Expanding the Inova Fairfax ER
The Inova Fairfax ER is Northern Virginia’s only Level I Trauma Center and ranks as the fourth busiest ER in the nation, serving over 172,000 patients in 2023, despite being designed for just 60,000 annually. We are embarking on a significant expansion that will include a specialized children’s emergency entrance and reception area, and an innovative EmPATH (Emergency Psychiatric Assessment, Treatment and Healing) unit for psychiatric emergencies.
Expansion in the Eastern Region
Inova has embarked on a comprehensive development plan to expand and upgrade health care services in our growing Eastern Region communities of Alexandria, Mount Vernon, and Franconia-Springfield. With your help we’re ensuring access to state-of-the-art facilities and world-class clinical care, from enhancing emergency services and behavioral health to advancing cancer treatment and orthopedics.
Enhancing patient care
Philanthropy makes it possible for Inova to go above and beyond to deliver truly exceptional care to every person in every community we have the privilege to serve. Programs fueled entirely through philanthropic support include our Arts and Healing program, Animal Assisted Therapy, Patient Assistance Funding, and a number of other critical community health initiatives.
Supporting our Team
Our team members are core to our mission. Philanthropic support helps ensure we recruit and retain top talent through funding for professional development, fellowships, and innovative programs such as Dream B!G, our equity-focused initiative for students to explore healthcare career paths. Other critical programs include our Inova Compassion Fund, which provides a lifeline to Inova team members who have experienced a traumatic life event.
